Nominations for the First National Silver Crane Film Awards
The first in Lithuania Silver Crane cinema and television film awards will take place on the 29th of May at the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre. The Silver Crane awards ceremony will be broadcasted by the LNK television channel on the 1st of June.
The awards have been initiated by AVAKA (Authors’ Rights Association for Audiovisual Works) and the Ministry of Culture of the
14 Silver Crane statues will be awarded during the ceremony: for the best feature film in 2007, the best documentary, television film, animation and short film. Statues will be also awarded to the best director, actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, cinematographer, artist, script writer and best sound.
On the occasion of the first awards three Golden Cranes will be awarded for contribution to Lithuanian cinema.
The Jury
Nominees and winners of Silver Cranes are selected by famous representatives of Lithuanian cinema: National Prize winner, actor Regimantas Adomaitis; National Prize winner, a member of the European Film Academy, director Arūnas Matelis; film critic Živilė Pipinytė; composer Algirdas Martinaitis; sound director Romualdas Federavičius; film critic Skirmantas Valiulis; animator Algirdas Selenis; film actress Gražina Baikštytė; organizer of the film festival Tinklai Arturas Jevdokimovas and director of the Skalvija Film Centre Greta Zabukaitė.
The chairwoman of the jury is a member of the European Film Academy, PhD in film studies, associated professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, artistic director of the Nordic Film Forum Scanorama, Gražina Arlickaitė.
Ceremony Announcers
The ceremony will be announced by a duo of Lithuanian theatre, film and television actors: one of the most talented Lithuanian actresses, a Golden Cross winner Nelė Savičenko and theatre, film and television actor, director and singer Vladas Bagdonas.
The Silver Crane statue has been created by one of the most famous Lithuanian sculptors Audrius Liaudanskas.
