“It’s as if the Lord has brought us together… And, look, we have talked on time”. Actor Algimantas Masiulis and film director Raimondas Vabalas, two friends and long-term colleagues, met five days before Raimondas left this world.
“Thus we have a document recorded with a video camera giving evidence that the director, whom a disease had confined to his bed for several years, remained staunch, active and faithful to his beliefs up to his last breath.
The last conversation between the friends has become the spine of the film surrounded by contemporaries’ stories, visual chronicle of the period and, of course, Raimondas’s legacy: his previous interviews and excerpts from his films.
The story of Raimondas Vabalas’s life is very interesting, full of creative fire that helped to overcome the barriers of the Soviet period. His memory is particularly relevant today – as the source of human fortitude, uncompromised creation and understanding of his mission,” says the director of the film, Agnė Marcinkevičiūtė.
