The wood-carver Robertas Žaliukas has himself unriddled the secret of an old Japanese wood carving technique. He lives in a forest, in a hut he has built himself. Bright and unique works of the master – crosses, sculptures, monuments and miniatures – are being shown in exhibitions, preserved in public and private collections. “My works are necessary first of all to myself”, he says.
