Lithuanian film "Lisa, go home!" was awarded an honourable prize in Norway
The Jury Prize of Honour (Honourable Mention) of the 36th Norwegian Short Film Festival was awarded to the Lithuanian documentary film "Lisa, go home!". The film was screened in International Short Film competition program.
International jury was especially fascinated by the director Oksana Buraja's ability to win the trust of the film's heroine Lisa. "The authors go deep into the life of a little girl in a grim inhumane world. Within a short time, we feel familiar with the film's heroine, we can understand her, learn about her life in the environment where adults control nothing. She can survive only in her self-created world. It is also a film about poverty, degeneration; created crossing the boundary between documentary and feature films,"- said the jury verdict.
The seventh documentary by one of the most original directors in Lithuania O. Buraja, "Lisa, go home!" talks about the gap between the child's and adult worlds. The film's heroine Lisa often runs away from home, gets into conflicts with her mother. "Why do you keep running away? What are you missing?", - the family does not understand Lisa's desire to hide in the world of childish dreams. This film is created in collaboration between Lithuanian and Estonian Filmmakers (producers Uljana Kim and Arko Okk).
This spring, O. Buraja's film "Lisa, go home!" received the Best European Short Film prize at the International Women's Film Festival in France.
World premiere of "Lisa, go home!" was held last autumn at the competition program of the famous International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film, the film was invited to the competition programs of festivals: Clermont - Ferrand, Hot Docs (Canada), and others.
