International Film Festival "Baltijos banga" begins in Nida
Today, in Nida starts the 5th International Film Festival "Baltijos banga" (Baltic Wave), organized by the Lithuanian Filmmakers Union. Residents and guests of this resort will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the contemporary Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian cinema – documentary and feature films. The event will take place at the cultural and tourist information centre "Agila". For the first time guest days are held at the festival - viewers will see films from and .
The official opening of the festival will take place tomorrow, 23 August, at 7 p.m. During the opening, the audience will see the director Kristina Buožytė's fiction feature film "Vanishing Waves" (Lith. - "Aurora"), which over the last year has won dozens of prizes at international festivals. The film will be presented by the director K. Buožytė and producer Ieva Norvilienė.
On 24 August, 11 a.m., at the Neringa municipality, a seminar for film professionals "Baltic cinema: director and producer relations" will be held.
In a separate afternoon at the "Baltic Wave", on 25 August, at 5 p.m., there will be a special anniversary hour of Jūratė Leikaitė's animation.
