Tomas Smulkis' film "Paradise Road" continues its trips through international festivals
After returning from the international premiere at the Huesca International Film Festival (Spain), documentary film "Paradise Road" directed by Tomas Smulkis continues its international travels by participating in competition programs. The film produced by the studio "Monoklis" (together with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre), is selected to participate in another four international film festivals.
"The open-air screenings are attended by a huge local audience and it is surprising that during the showing of the film there is total silence - as if the southern temperament falls asleep for awhile. The film shot during the cold winter in Sweden looks pretty exotic in the sunny Italy and this gives more additional colours." - says the film's director participating in the competition program.
These days, the film "Paradise Road" also takes part in Monterrey International Film Festival in Mexico. Here it is competing in the international short documentary category for "Cabrito de Plata" (Silver Child) - the official festival award. The Lithuanian film is included in this competition category together with other four films from Poland, Mexico, Argentina and China.
In September, the film "Paradise Road" will go to the 26th Helsinki International Film Festival in Finland, to attend the program of short films. The program at this festival consists of approximately 180 feature films and 80 short films.
In November, the film will participate in the 24th Ljubljana International Film Festival in Slovenia. Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFE) is one of the biggest cultural events in Slovenia.
