Lithuanian short film "Dog Days" – in the competition program of the Tampere festival
At Tampere Film Festival, held for the 44th time in Finland, among the films selected for the International Competition is a Lithuanian short film "Dog Days", directed by Ieva Veiverytė. Tampere Film Festival that will take place on 5 - 9 March 2014, is one of the most important short film festivals in Europe. In its competition program this year, about forty short films from around the world are presented. "Dog Days" screenings are planned in Tampere on 5 and 7 March. The film will be presented for the festival guest by the director Ieva Veiverytė and producer Marija Razgutė.
The film "Dog Days" is a short story telling about a fifty-year-old Dalia, who still lives with her domineering mother. When the elderly mother is hospitalized for tests, Dalia stays home alone. The woman's spontaneous idea to let their mutt dog go for a run ends in a tragedy - the animal gets hit by a car. Dalia has to bury the dog by herself. For a dependent woman, this task becomes a real challenge.
