The Festival dei Popoli – International Documentary Film Festival ended in Florence , November 22. Ūkų ūkai, a film directed by Audrius Stonys, was awarded the Lorenzo de’ Medici Prize by the Student Jury of the Lorenzo de’Medici School.

Festival dei Popoli is one of the oldest international film festivals in Europe founded in 1959. The most famous international cinema masters have presented their work at the festival, such as Fred Wiseman, Richard Leacock,  Lindsay Anderson, Abbas Kiarostami, Nagisa Oshima, Aleksandr Sokurov, Artavazd Pelechian and others.

The Student Jury that awarded the prize to A. Stonys has remarked that ‘Ūkų ūkai endows the viewer with the harmony of sound and image. This sensation is personal and at the same time universal, combining the duality of human life and the body.’

This is the third international award to the film. It has won the main prize, Gold Mikeldi, at the International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao () and the Best Short Film Award at the International Art Film Festival in Trencianske Teplice.

The film Ūkų Ūkai was created by Studija 2 in collaboration with television channels ARTE France-La Lucarne (France), YLE Teema () and Lithuanian National Radio and Television. The film was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania and the MEDIA Plus programme of the European Union.

Cinematographer: Audrius Kemežys, editor: Danielius Kokanauskis, sound director: Viktoras Juzonis, producer: Arūnas Stoškus.

A new project of A. Stonys was selected for the largest in Europe Amsterdam documentary co-production Forum that will take place on November 26–28 during the prestigious International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. A. Stonys has great experience in participating in this important Forum which is attended by representatives of the largest world television channels. The fact that the new project has been selected shows an early interest in the project and a possibility to secure co-financing for the production of this art documentary.
