Baltic country screenwriters awarded at Scanorama
Scanorama European Film Forum held in
Andrius Blaževičius, a Lithuanian director, won the monetary prize awarded by “Teo LT” Company for his movie, Dešimt priežasčių ‘Ten Reasons’ – it was recognized the Best Film in the Young Lithuania in Short program. Seven films competed in this category.
The prize for the Best Film in the Baltic countries went to Gaismas Zīmes ‘Signs of Light’, a Latvian film. Klaus Eder, General Secretary of International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) and Chairman of the Scanorama program of competition, issued the award to Ivo Briedis, one of the screenplay co-authors. “Cinevera”, a company offering film production services, sponsored this prize. The director of Signs of Light, Ilzė Kunga, was gifted with a certificate guaranteeing production services in the amount of 10,000 litas from “Cinevera” for a future film. A total of 14 films from , and competed for this prize.
